It seems to take forever for justice to be rendered after indictments have been made against an accused. Making today's headlines is the trial of R&B singer R. Kelly. If you do not know, Kelly is accused of explicit sexual misconduct. Kelly is charged with 14 counts of videotaping, producing or soliciting child pornography.

It has taken six years for the case to go to trial. Reports say the public has already reached their decision about Kelly's innocence or guilt. These reports feel his less than award-winning sales of his latest release which flopped are clearly the voice of the public. Executives on Kelly's team said, "the singer has not kept up with the times and hair braiding is not something that is interesting to the market which he was trying to reach." Consumers between the ages of 19-24 are not interested in ‘hair braiding.' "That is old news and not about something he should have based hip-hop music," the executives continued.

Apparently his executives were correct. After six years, a jury of Kelly's peers has found him not guilty! Kelly faced up to 15 years of imprisonment if he were found guilty.

So, Robert "R. Kelly" is not guilty as accused and free. It took a jury less than a day of deliberations to reach a verdict. Kelly had long denied being on the video tape - and even the alleged victim said it wasn't her. "In late afternoon, Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan denied the jury's request for a transcript of the entire trial, saying it would take too long to provide them with one deleting sidebar conversations," said one report.

R. Kelly is 41 years old and lives in Chicago. One can only image the relief Kelly must feel. He was indeed, one of the fortunate ones. Wesley Snipes must be hopeful his case will net the same results. But, oh well, that's another article and he's facing the IRS!
