The television was on to keep me company but I had not sat down to watch it. I rarely do. I think having it on in the other room is nice but tonight, I was going to channel surf. I noticed one show was ending when I saw, "Next: Celine Dion: That's Just the Woman in Me," being annouced. I became rather excited as I had not heard anything about her in a long time. I have her music but while she was working in Las Vegas, I lost track of her. I was aware her contract had ended and didn't know what she was doing until tonight.
Wow! She's one fantastic entertainer. And she looks great, no matter her age. She wore a short sexy number that revealed a much toned wife and Mom. She was happy to be back in Los Angeles and on stage. Her performance tonight was electric and personable. She spoke of the engagement of a couple and dedicated a song to them (I am your lady and you are my man.) Forgive me, but I don't follow the celebrity fanfare. I gathered they [the couple] were the Hollywood type.

Josh Groban was brought on stage to perform The Prayer with Celine. It was performed lovely by the duet. That song inspires and touches me deeply. Celine went on to prove she can hang with the best of them, hip hop artists! Adorned in an outfit suited for hip hop singing and dancing, she wailed as only Celine Dion can and danced her booty off!

Some may ask, "How old is Celine Dion?" I have the answer. She's old enough to properly cover the material and young enough to get away with everything she did tonight!

I must apologize to her as television doesn't hold my attention too very long. I thought I'd "listen" to the rest of the performance but somehow got distracted. When I went back to the set, another show was playing.

My aloofness to television has nothing to do with Celine Dion's beautiful voice or performance. She explained early in the show, that she has been singing since the age of five. She would perform on the kitchen table for her family. Her parents owned a restaurant and at age 10 or 12, her brother would play the piano and she'd sing. She added, "With my parent's permission, of course." The restaurant guests would stay long past closing listening to her sing. That was when her parents knew she should be making records.

And the rest, as they say . . . is history! The lady is all woman! Oh yes, one guest (a friend) asked who wore the pants at home.  With sassy appeal she replied, "Rene wears the pants, but I'm the boss!" Magnificent!

Sulagna, thank you for identifying yourself. I also thank you for the glowing compliment. Admittedly, I was prompted to read a couple of your articles from a comment you made to someone else. I am unable to recall who it was. But, like her, I enjoy reading diverse points of view from around the world. Be well and safe. :)

Good article Avis, a lot more cheerful then what I usually write to. Anyway I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Its nice to have some entertainment on TV once in awhile. Yes and she is one of the few left who can pull off a show like this. Anyway, keep smiling and spreading joy. Best Regards, Robert
