We Are the World

When one thinks of only $100 to change the world, one cannot help but think of "only $100" for such a monumental task! However, we have a powerful mind that is not nearly used to its fullest capacity. One, one-hundred dollar bill in my hands to impact the world would not do nearly as much as partnering with someone else. Thinking about this contest for a number of days, I have wrestled with coming up with a ‘fresh' idea and I have been consistently brought back to my spiritual roots.
The bible tells us as long as the earth remains, there will be seed, time and harvest. Life begins with a seed. Over time, the seed grows and miraculously, a human being is born. What a glorious harvest, too! It's amazing how He adds by subtracting and works by multiplying. We must lose our life to gain it. We give him one-tenth of our time, talents and treasures and we can receive a 30-60-90 or even one-thousand return on just giving. The really cool thing about it is just by giving $100 as a tithe, means we've been blessed to have made and/or received $1000!
We must think big and all encompassing. We have neighbors all over the world. We are all connected. We are one body with many members. When we do well for one, we have done so for the good of mankind, everywhere. We must not think geographically, territorially or with limits. We are the world!
If we simply gave $100 as a tithe or offering, we have set in motion rules, precepts, laws, principles, and obedience to the Word of God. He alone can take $100 and multiply it to have it felt supernaturally around the globe. He's just that awesome!
We cannot begin to understand or know the ways of God. There are benefits for eternity if we have faith and believe. I would take $100 and sow into the Kingdom of God. Every miracle I hear about across the globe would remind me of that seed. Did it manifest in healthcare for an elderly woman in Darfur? Did it provide food for a family of eight in Sidney, whose father lost his job? Did it buy medicine for a terminally ill child in Haiti? Did it pay for textbooks for some college student in Mississippi? Did it clothe the naked or provided a warm night's lodging for a few homeless men and women in Baghdad?
The biggest reward for me would be giving from the heart and expecting something supernatural to happen. Something, I am unable to explain but believe. The miracle happens because of ‘giving' and not because of ‘how much' was given.
